GTMobile: Conduct Banking Transactions Directly From Your Mobile Phone.


Services available on GTMobile include:

  • Mini statement
  • Funds transfer (Own account)

  • Bills payments (DSTV, PHCN & ZAIN postpaid)
  • Hotlist ATM card
This is GTBank's mobile banking platform. It is powered by Interswitch to facilitate card-based mobile transactions and other mobile banking services. This is another form of anywhere banking. Services available on GTMobile include balance inquiries, mini statement, own account transfer, airtime purchase and bills payments like DSTV, PHCN and ZAIN.

You can read through your phone manual for guidance on the following requirements
  • Java SMS version (a.k.a WMAPI) – version 1.0
  • Java Configuration version (a.k.a CLDC) – version 1.0
  • Java Platform version (a.k.a MIDP) – version 2.0
  • Mobile Phone Color Resolution (e.g. 16bit)
  • Java Application Storage Size - 120kb
  • General Packet Radio Service(GPRS) capability
You will be unable to conduct transactions until your card has been activated. Activation is done within 24hours. Once your card is activated, you will receive the following SMS "Your card (62778701**********7) has been activated". 
  • After installation you are required to register your phone number by selecting your network from the drop-down menu provided.
  • Enter your number 080*******. If you have a 070******* number, click backspace to clear 080 and type in your number
  • Re-Type the number and click on "Confirm" to move to the next stage to register your Card
  • The application takes you to the menu, click on 'wallet', 'card management','add card' and fill in the following details:
    • Card Name e.g Abrahamdavid (please avoid spaces between names eg Abraham David) A nickname can also suffice here e.g davido.
    • Card No e.g. 5399***********7
    • Account - Current or Savings (the account that is attached to your card).
    • Default Card
    • Expiry Month - Aug
    • Expiry Year - 2010
  • Click on "Register". This will take you to the 'confirmation' page
  • After confirming the details, click 'OK'
  • You will receive the message "Allow application to send message through the internet". Click 'Yes' if you are GPRS enabled
  • If GPRS fails, the SMS fail-over system will process the message "attempting to send message to either '23470******' or '30***'". Click 'Yes' to proceed.
  • You will receive an SMS reading "Your payment card was registered successfully. Your debit card will be activated".
The application automatically sends a WAP Push message to your phone. Click on the link embedded in the message. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the application on your phone.
Note: You must have GPRS working on your phone for a successful installation using this option. 
Save file to a desired destination folder on your PC. You can then transfer the application from your PC to your phone or a friend's phone using Bluetooth, infra-red or a phone cable. 
  • GTMobile uses the 3DES data encryption which is the most secure model of data transmission encryption on eCommerce platform.
  • Usage of phone is secured by the MasterCard Naira, CVV and PIN.
  • Log-in data is not stored on the phone.
  • Mobile application does not store data.
  • Card Number(PAN) and PIN are sent to the server in an encrypted format.
  • In the case of stolen phones, the wallet can be hotlisted.
  • Application can be installed on another phone with the retrieved SIM card.
  • Only registered phone numbers with GTBank are activated.

  • Phone number (GSM).
  • Phone vendor(Blackberry or others).
  • Phone model.
  • Click on "Send WAP Push" or "Download to PC".

Yes. The application runs on GPRS/SMS and your service provider's charges apply. 
Only phones that are Java enabled. The manual that comes with the phone always states the type of application that is being run on the phone. 
The service is only available when roaming facility has being activated on the SIM card.
